Answer by the_only_solorose
peanuts will add to constipation, they are legumes and not true nuts.
eating almonds or walnuts will help. Best way to avoid constipation is to drink enough water, the human body needs at minimum two liters a day. If you want to educate yourself on nutrition suggest you start with the site I’ve provided:

Question by Anonymous: What do you do for constipation when medicines don’t work?
I had never taken medicine for constipation ever, but I was in so much pain that I finally decided to try the medicine. It didn’t work at all! In fact, I feel worse. What can I do? I can’t afford to go to the doctor. Is this an emergency or life threatening? Or will I eventually go? What other steps can I take?

you are not drinking nearly enough liquids….hard fecal matter usually causes constipation and is caused when the food/liquid ratio is skewed. At the least, double your liquid intake.

And yes, constipation can and does kill.

Question by Patriotic: why don’t doctors get that not every child with constipation is the “textbook lots of miralax” fix?
is there anyone out there that knows a better way? my daughter got contipated two years ago and stretched out her colon. now she doesn’t work properly- it doesn’t contract right so she can’t feel when she need to go. we have been doing miralax for two years (her friend with the same problem has been doing it for 5 years) and she doesn’t get better. when she backs up, she can’t pee so she’s had 4 kidney infections in the past 3 months. she isn’t afraid to poop- so don’t you dare tell me that- she wants to go and does regularly, but that doesn’t change the fact that her body is physically damaged. we were told if she stays on miralax for 6-7 years, her body will heal itself. there has to be another way. no child should have to get bleeding rashes, kidney infections and have bowel and bladder problems for that long.

I don’t suppose you tried the bisicodyl suppositories? I use them to stimulate bowel movments in my paralized patients. They give the added advantage of knowing when the “event” is going to happen, so there shouldn’t be any suprises later in the day.

DONT COMMENT IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING HARSH TO SAY. I am actually very concerned so if you want to be stupid SCREW OFF!

I have been breastfeeding for 3 months. And i love providing the best for my child but i have been struggling SO hard to keep my breast milk in. I’ve done everything, leaving her on the tit to help stimulation, pumping, drinking fluids eating right.. I don’t know what else to do. She is becoming VERY demanding and drink 8 ounces in one feeding! We started giving her cereal and I’ve been giving her formula for the past 4 or 5 days. She’s SO much more satisfied and content and she hasn’t had ANY constipation, and is pooping great on the formula. When i was breastfeeding we were struggling with her being constipated… Why?! I was eating right and i tried eating diferent things to make sure that wasn’t it.. Im so upset i KNOW my breastmilk is so much better for her.. i hate myself right now i feel like im not doing my job as a mother if i cant provide the best for her! What will it do to her if i start feeding her formula from now on?? My milk is still there but its BARELY coming on but does that mean is till have a chance? I’ve tried putting her on just to stimulate but im not getting anything.. Please any advice that’s not judgemental would be so appreciated!! I’ve had the worst luck with answers here lately and im not in the mood for bullcrap. please. real answers.
she was constipated because she was scream and cry because her belly was hurting so bad, and when she pooped she was ok. we went to the doctor plenty of times. and where are people getting the idea im judging my supply from pumps? im not an idiot. She will suck and suck and not get anything, and cry and cry. what do i do? let her scream because shes starving? she won’t suck when shes that hungry because shes too upset. i gave her formula. i say i pump, because nothing else worked, so i pumped in between feedings also to try and help my supply
I also just thought of something, she threw up constantly when i was nursing her, she never kept it down so she was puke and just want more milk. make she has acid reflux? because when i started her on cereal she kept her food down soooo much better. she didnt puke as much at all. and also, when im nursing she constantly pulls off, shes been doing this for a good while now. even when i had milk in she just wouldnt take it she would suck but constantly pull off, suck, pull off, suck pull off… i want to breastfeed.. but im also in a very stressful point in my life. personal things that may be having a effect on my milk.
