For the past week, my 10-week-old baby has been having firmer bowel movements. She cries on occasion as she’s having one, so I assume it must be painful for her. She’s formula fed. Is this a sign of constipation, even though she’s still having a BM every day?
Ok, so I know I have to have a DR diagnosis me, but I can’t until my baby is born(I’m pregnant currently). I just want your advice on if what I have been experiencing is IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) or not. I have been expreiencing these symptoms for a long time and realize that there must be something wrong with me. Since March 2003 I have had the following symptoms: diarrhea (mostly diarrhea), cramps, constipation (on occasion), stomach gurgling, relief after passing stools from pain, bowel movements frequency range from less than 3 a week (constpation) to 2-3(sometimes not that often, but has even been more than 3 times a day on occasion) times a day (diarreha) and when I have went a long time from a bowel movement when I finally do go it is usually diarreha. The symptoms mentioned often occur after stressful situations/stress menstruation or after a large meal other times have been random occurrences.
I have read that trama can cause IBS so here are some things that have happened to me: I had a very bad childhood(age 7-18), at age 15 I got food poiosning (vomited until green bile came up), I had my 1st miscarraige (I’ve had 6 miscarraiges total in my life) at age 19, during basic training for the military I noticed my symptoms (diarreha) beginning, I had a breast bioposy done to remove to non-cancerous cysts at age 20, while pregnant w/my 1st child (had her at age 21) during my last trimester I had (diarreha the most severe range for me 2nd-3rd trimester) by taking potassium pills (over the counter) noticed a decrease in symptoms (diarrhea).
Well, I think that covers all of my medical history with the IBS symptoms or trama that could have caused me to get this is concerned for the most part. Any and all advice is welcome (please don’t be rude or make fun of me) thanks!!
Before I start, apologies if this is tmi but I need to ask…
I want to know if there is any way to regulate or increase bowel movements?
My problem is that I might only go once a week or sometimes once every 9-10 days. Except when I’m due my period, I always have regular bm’s(1-2 per day usually) from the day before and the first 2-3 days of my monthly cycle. Most of the time I feel heavy, full and bloated which really pisses me off cos I just don’t feel I have the energy I should have. I’m only 25.
I also feel this contributes to my weight and difficulty in losing weight. I’m pretty average but I do carry weight around my middle even though I don’t eat trash or pig out. For what i eat, I shouldn’t have this problem. The rest of my body is fine, but my tummy has always been a sore point. Is this connected to my irregular bm’s? I would feel much happier if I was eliminating the waste from my body much more frequently.
I have always been like this, even as a young child, as far back as I can remember, I never had regular bm’s and suffered from constipation and hard stools a lot when I was young.
My mother also has this problem.
Is this just the way I am and not something I can ever change or can I regulate this?
No smart *** answers pls…
