my son was a premee born at 34 weeks. he was fine no problems breathing and was home week after birth. he had some blood in his stool and my dr said it is allergy to protein. i was breastfeeding him but now dr switch him for special formula. i was wondering how soon babys usually outgrow it and what symptoms your child has. i am worry now that formula may give him constipation ar gas but this formula should be gentle. how your baby react for that change?
did switch for formula decrise amount and frequency of pooping

Milk and soy allergies do run in my sons family. My two step children have autism and cannot eat milk or soy products. He started on formula a month ago and was constipated, fussy and gassy. So we switched to good start and his constipation went away but his gas and fussiness did not. He also developed a rash on his face. We then switched him to Good Start Soy. He did better immediately but still is occasionally fussy and his rash has came back and is now on both sides of his cheeks and his neck. Ever since I switched him to formula he has had a congested nose that I have read can be a milk/soy allergy symptom. Should we switch him from Good Start Soy to Similac Alimentum?

Thanks!
Forgot to add…he is two and a half months old.

I asked this question already and I got some good answers. But now we have tried giving him milk again- per DR’s order- and I am confused.
My son was on Enfamil Enfacare because he was a preemie- it caused him severe constipation- so some where in the 6-8 months range, he was switched to Nutramigen. He helped his constipation greatly.
Now that he’s 1, our DR told us to try Nestle Good Start- and his bowel movement are formed but soft enough to pass.
We just started integrating cow’s milk early last week- he got less than 2 oz total the first day. That night, he had red spots that looks like bites and a light, faint rash on his tummy.
DR said to wait a few days and try again. All red spots were gone for a couple days- so he had the equivalent of 1 adult sip yesterday.
Red spots that look like bites and faint rash on tummy are back.
! person who answered said their child can have milk-based formula but not cows milk.
Our DR said it was unlikely he would be allergic since he was started out on milk-based- and now we’re back to milk-based formula. And the formula doesn’t bother him or give him any rashes.
He does have milk eczema on his arms- but he also had that while he was on Nutramigen.
Anyone have any thoughts/ideas?
He’s had whole milk cottage cheese and I didn’t notice any spots on him.
I thought the first time it was a coincidence- but I find it hard to believe that it would happen 2x-
it just doesn’t seem to make sense!!
I put balm on the raised bite-looking marks last night after bath- they are gone as of this morning!!

Hi, I really hope someone can help me because I’m losing my mind due to sleep deprivation!!
I have a 15 month old daughter who for the last 3 months or so has been severely constipated, and for almost the same length of time has been waking through the night, bright as a button, ready for action. She then wakes at 5am (since the clocks have gone back, used to be 6am).
I can cope with her waking at 5am, provided I get a good nights sleep first. But this waking through the night is absolutely shattering me and my husband.
Today my husband did some research and came across cow’s milk allergy. My question is have any of you have a child with milk allergy and did it disturb their sleep and give them severe constipation? Even after hardly any sleep through the night my daughter still can’t sleep for more than 20 minutes through the day and she doesn’t go to bed until 7pm.
Please help!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
