Sometimes I’ll feel like the floor is really far away when I know it’s close by, and when I dream things will suddenly get too thin or too big and I can’t fix it. And I’ll imagine or actually pick up something tiny like a needle and it will feel thick and too heavy or something really heavy like a tire would feel really light. I get really scared for no reason and my mom used to give me stuff for constipation and tell me to use the toilet.
My earliest recollections of this happening is about three or four. This is eleven years later and it’s still happening! What is it??

I’m 35 weeks pregnant with my first child and feeling so very heavy! I still have to go to work as I don’t want to waste my maternity leave. I would rather spend it with my baby after she is born.
I’m a teacher, and some of you may know how hectic teaching can be. I feel lethargic and I drag myself to work everyday. And the heat outside is killing me!
The thing is, my doc is so stingy in giving me leave from work and I’ve been going to other doctors faking constipations and severe backpains.
Truthfully, everything is going along fine in my pregnancy that I have no excuse for any bedrest. What can I tell my doc so that she will grant me bedrest till my delivery. Please give me some ideas! Thanks!

He’s gone 12 days now without a poop. He’s puked twice in the past 4 days. Doctor put him on colace and lactulose (together) 1 tsp twice a day. Today is the 2nd day on the meds, and still no results. If he doesn’t poop by tommorow night we have to go back into the ER. Any idea how long it SHOULD take for these meds to kick in??

My daughter is 3 and has had bowel movement problems for about a year. When it first started I thought that her not “going” was a result of trying to potty train her and so I put that on hold trying to figure this problem out. She eats healthy, loves fruit, and while she does love her chocolate soy milk (she was allergic to reg milk as a baby) she mostly wants water to drink. She has always loved apples, applesauce, and bananas and with vegetables she likes peas and corn. I talked to her doctor a few months ago when the problem started getting worse and she said that apples, applesauce, and bananas can cause constipation and that fruits like strawberries, blue berries, and other darker fruits are better. The strawberries are great because Shelby loves them but I think she’s getting a little tired of them because I try to make sure she gets them about every day. She’s not big on raspberries or blue berries.
With the strawberries things have been going great (started pooping a lot better) but last week we were hardly home and were eating out a lot because we had our taxes done, got a new car, and did a lot of running around. Now I feel like I’m starting all over again with the strawberries.
My big point is, I don’t believe that feeding my daughter strawberries everyday is the answer. I don’t want to keep her drugged up on medicine all the time, but something has got to be done. When I talked to Shelby’s doctor about the problem, she was in for a flu shot. The doctor didn’t even examine Shelby. She has had so much of a hard time pooping that she cries. About a month after talking to the doctor I almost took Shelby to the emergency room on a Saturday morning because she was screaming and crying because she was trying to poop. By the time I got her ready though, things were fine.
Should I look into getting new doctor to find a solution to the problem? How do I know that she’s not rupturing something when trying to poop? She’s 3 years old and should not be having this problem.

my daughter is 16mths old, we have already taken her to her docts, and er several time, she has a specialist appt. June 1st this comin monday. i’m almost 100% sure this constipation started when we changed her milk because every since then she has been having trouble it just worsens over time. My mother n law drinks those Ensure ( Butter Pecan flavor ) It says on the can complete, balanced nutrition, it has omega 3’s. and its lactose & gluten free. Would this constipate her even more? I know shes not lactose intolerate because our family doc. said she would have diareahh. im just really wantin to try different things until monday that could possibly help her. so what do u think?? the reason why im asking though, is because i want to take her off her whole milk ( btw, we have tried all milks, 2%, 1%, slim, silk, still hasnt helped ) but i want her to still get the vitamins, and nutrition, & ensure carries this.

Ok here is the problem my live in boyfriend and I get it on almost everyday…and just this past week I have been feeling rather ill. I have the lower stomach and the vomiting that comes with pregance but my period isn’t due for another week?? I thought it could have be constipation but it wasn’t that and even a stomach virus and the doctor said it wasn’t. What could it be?? And I took a test this morning and just like I thought it was negative!!! Help please!!! Maybe someone has experienced the same thing!!! Thanks and God bless

No, there is NOTHING wrong with formula. I’m not debating that point.
Ethan was put on formula at about 5 weeks when I thought I didn’t have enough breast milk. We tried almost every formula there was. We tried Similac,Enfamil Gentlease, Enfamil Soy, Similac Sensitive, Similac Sensitive R.S., Enfamil A.R, Nutramagin, and Alimentum(all changes under the care of a pediatrician) over the next 11 months. He just didn’t do well on formula. If he wasn’t projectile vomiting, he was spitting up ounces after each feed. Or he had diarrhea or constipation, gas, or fussiness after each feed.
When I think back about all that he went through I wish so much that I had had the education and support to work through the breastfeeding problems and to keep nursing him. I just didn’t know any better. I didn’t know anyone I could talk to her even how to look it up on the internet. If I would have kept breastfeeding him his reflux would have been better delt with and he wouldn’t have had any of these problems with formula.
Has anyone had a similar experience? I guess that’s why hindsight is 20-20!

My 6 years old daughter accidentally swallowed a Malaysian 20 cents coin about a week ago. She was warded for a day and then was released a day later with the coin still in her large intestine. We were told to monitor her stool ever since then.
Today, we went back for a follow up. Another X-ray was taken and I was told that the coin is still there where it was seen last.
I told the doctor before the x-ray was taken that my daughter kept on having on and off high fever since she was discharged from the ward and that she has constipation problem although she has never complained of any stomach discomfort / pain. She even have recurring headaches that force her to lie down and made her weak.
After the x-ray was taken, the doctor (whom had left the clinic) refused to review the x-ray or even come back to see us for awhile. We was told to come back after one week.
Now, please tell me if I should be worried about my daughter’s condition or suggest me of what I should do meanwhile waiting for the next appointment NEXT WEEK!!… :-s
