Best Excuses To Get Off Work During Pregnancy?
Posted by: Alan in Constipation in Children, tags: Best, During, Excuses, Pregnancy, Work
I’m 35 weeks pregnant with my first child and feeling so very heavy! I still have to go to work as I don’t want to waste my maternity leave. I would rather spend it with my baby after she is born.
I’m a teacher, and some of you may know how hectic teaching can be. I feel lethargic and I drag myself to work everyday. And the heat outside is killing me!
The thing is, my doc is so stingy in giving me leave from work and I’ve been going to other doctors faking constipations and severe backpains.
Truthfully, everything is going along fine in my pregnancy that I have no excuse for any bedrest. What can I tell my doc so that she will grant me bedrest till my delivery. Please give me some ideas! Thanks!

Change doctors. If a pregnant woman says she is tired, she is god damn tired and needs the day off!

as for the school : – Well usually you can leave 6 weeks before baby is born & return 3 months later, but, you could orgnanise when to come back with the school over a mutual agreement, but you would be able to leave now and it shouldnt be a bother. Also explain that you are a 1st time mum and you and the baby will need time to adjust to eachother. just say that you will be back as soon as baby gets into a stable ruteine before you get back and i asure you it wont take much longer then 3 months.
Now your doctor : – tell him that you are concerned about your blood pressure rising while at work and you dont need that , TRUST ME! i have a high BP and i am unable to work right now. all i said to my doc was i felt Lathargic, i have pain in my lower abdomin and i had a high BP. absoutly get up your doc
i would say ” Hey, i am the pregnant one not you, and if i say that i dont feel confident working because it doesnt feel right i dont think i should. my body is saying stop so thats what i want to do.”
if you want work yourself up so you have a high BP and they cant make you do anything, or you could just see another doctor because obviously your doc doesnt really feel any consern for you ad or cares about yours or the babies health.
good luck and safe delivery

I have no idea what to tell your doc except “Give me some bed rest! I am tired!” If she refuses, change your doctor. I actually tried to be more active during my pregnancy and it kind if helped, after my baby was born I felt almost antsy to move around and get back to work.

You could tell them that you are spotting and you need to do to the doctor to make sure your baby is alright. and tell them that the reason for this is due to too much physical activity and stress and you need to rest for a couple of days.

get a doctors note for stress leave, this will not affect your maternity leave.

Say, “Give me my bedrest dammit!”
or you could just go to another doctor?

Not sure where you are, but where I live “disability” is considered to start 4 weeks before the baby is due and continue for 6 weeks (8 weeks with c-section) after the baby is delivered. Check on your laws and see if you can choose to take yourself out of work at 36 weeks.

Well i am 38 weeks pregnant and have been off since December. I work in a library, which is probably just as physical as your job. My work wern’t very accomodating in helping me at all and i had a sore back. i went to doc told him my back was a lot worse than it was and he signed me off every month for nearly 4 months. Im actually on maternity leave now, but the rest before was invaluable. If u really play on it (depression is another good one) they should sign you off, u are pregnant for goodness sake and i totally understand where u are coming from. good luck

This is bad (lol) tell her you been having some spotting and see if that works it really did happen to be and I was not allowed to get up unless I got a glass of water or take a shower. . . Try to rest as much as possible newborn is 3 months now and am still tired.
